Capreolos joins IPAI Community

Capreolos is making significant strides in the field of digital prehabilitation with the Prep4Surg app. With years of experience in patient care and innovative digital health solutions, Capreolos is addressing a crucial need for digital prehabilitation programs that assist patients and their doctors in better preparing for surgeries.

Today, we’re excited to learn more about Capreolos’ mission and the innovative work they are doing in a short interview with Mark F. Siller, the CTO of Capreolos.

IPAI: Mark, can you tell us more about how Capreolos utilizes AI in analyzing anonymized patient data for prehabilitation research?

Mark: Certainly! By leveraging AI to analyze anonymized patient data, we develop insights that lead to personalized therapy recommendations and dynamic preparation training. This approach not only enhances surgical outcomes but also accelerates the recovery processes for all patients.

That’s fascinating! It sounds like a powerful application of AI. How do you see the partnership with IPAI benefiting Capreolos in this regard?

The partnership with IPAI offers us a unique opportunity. We’re eager to share our innovative ideas around AI in prehabilitation with the IPAI community while benefiting from valuable exchanges with experienced partners. This mutual knowledge transfer significantly propels our development of AI-supported health solutions.

It’s great to hear that knowledge sharing is a priority for you. You mentioned in our pre-talk that Heilbronn now has a digital fitness coach for surgeries. How does this reflect the capabilities of AI beyond traditional roles?

Exactly! Capreolos demonstrates that AI can do much more than just power chatbots; it can actively prepare patients for optimal performance before surgery. And we truly believe this is just the beginning of our journey.

The partnership with IPAI offers Capreolos a unique opportunity: We are happy to share our innovative ideas on AI in pre-rehabilitation with the IPAI community and at the same time benefit from valuable exchange with experienced partners. This mutual knowledge transfer drives our development of AI-supported healthcare solutions.

Mark F. Siller
CTO of Capreolos

As a health startup, what specific interdisciplinary exchanges are you looking for within the IPAI community?

We’re particularly interested in learning from the expertise of established partners in both medicine and AI technology. Simultaneously, we want to share our hands-on experiences from developing AI health solutions, fostering a collaborative environment.

That sounds promising! You’ve also mentioned the importance of human-centered AI. How does that principle shape your work at Capreolos?

For us, human-centric AI means that technology should support and empower people, not replace them. We’re committed to developing AI solutions that accompany researchers, doctors, and patients throughout their surgical journeys.

It’s clear that you have a strong vision. What were the key factors that led you to join the IPAI network?

Three main factors influenced our decision: First, the chance to engage directly with experienced AI experts across various fields. Second, the opportunity for a startup like ours to benefit from IPAI’s influence. And third, Heilbronn’s emergence as a growing AI region, providing ideal conditions for innovation.

Collaboration seems essential to your strategy. What specific outcomes do you hope to achieve through your engagement with other companies in the IPAI community?

We aim for active exchanges with companies utilizing AI, gaining access to expertise and best practices in developing AI solutions. We’re particularly interested in practical experiences and how others navigate challenges in implementing AI technologies.

Looking ahead, where do you see Capreolos in one year and five years as part of the IPAI community?

In a year, we envision Capreolos as an active member of the IPAI community, having discussed collaborative topics for advancing our AI solution. In five years, thanks to our partnership, we aim to be a leading provider of AI-supported prehabilitation solutions, setting standards in personalized prehabilitation.

That’s an inspiring vision, Mark. Thank you so much for your insights! We look forward to seeing the positive impact of your innovative work in the field of prehabilitation. Welcome aboard!
